my autumn/winter clothing must-haves

Anna doesn’t like clothing to be complicated. Relatable?

Find out what her favorite, most used items are this autumn/winter!

Last year I did a post on how to stay warm during a cold spring season, and this year I thought I’d share about my autumn/winter closet.

I’ve been working and going to college, so I pulled out my warm clothes at the start of the fall semester to get everything in order. That’s when I realized it was basically a capsule wardrobe and only needed a few more things to be perfect!

Keep reading to see the pieces that have made my busy life so much easier!

-oversized plaidsΒ

A must-have according to meee!! I found adorable comfy warm flannel-looking plaids at the thrift store, still in great condition. Not to be dramatic or anything, but they have totally changed my life. Like, I’m gonna cry when it’s too warm to throw one on!

-long jeans: black and dark denim

I traded my sister for borrowing privileges of her black jeans, and they look great paired with a huge, long, chunky sweater I got for free! If you’re like me and skinny jeans aren’t your thing, don’t be afraid to cuff pants so you can still wear them with boots. It’s a fun, funky style!

-pencil skirts: black and dark denim

I wear my denim skirt with any-and-everything, but when it’s cold out I love to pair it with brown leggings into my combat boots. And wearing my black skirt with the same color boots and leggings, like below…. creates the illusion that I’m taller and more boss than I actually am. πŸ˜›

-layers: black t-shirt & leggings, brown t-shirt & leggings

All autumn/winter I throw on a layering T-shirt under a flannel for warmth or to make a collar a little higher, and I wear leggings with pretty much any skirt or dress I wear with boots. I literally overwear these pieces and need to find new ones somewhere! They make outfits so much easier.

-a dress or two

I found both these dresses cheaply at a thrift store, yay! The denim one (which has pockets fyi), I wear with a cardigan and brown leggings & boots. Oh and the green dress’s longer back hem is very epic in the wind.Untitled design (8)

-brown and black boots

My boots are rather beat up by now, but hey they’re still pretty cute. πŸ˜‰ There’s the tall black pair I’ve had for at least 6 years, the brown combat boots which have a hidden pocket, and my cute booties I recently found at a thrift store! Boots definitely throw any outfit over into the “IT’S COLD!” look and are extra cozy with knit socks sticking out the top.

-comfy sweaters/sweatshirts

Bonus tips for extra-long sleeves, am I right?

I wear this long green cardigan with skirt outfits, jeans outfits, pj’s, shortish dresses… yeah, aka all the time. The mustard “Need more caffeine” sweater is RIDICuLOUSly soft, and I got my bff and I matching ones from Walmart. πŸ˜€Untitled design

-overalls ❀ ❀

Pretty much an instant outfit, I found these comfy black overalls at Frye’s and wear them EVERYwhere! Throw them on with a T-shirt, flannel, or sweater and I’m all set! Get yo-self some overalls, girls.
