Since the beginning of time I have been fascinated with all things detective, secret agent, or spy; and over the years I’ve started multiple detective agencies (with a few notable real cases!!).

Who else binge read mysteries like Trixie Belden series, The Boxcar Children series, Nancy Drew series, Homer Price, Encyclopedia Brown series, Scripture Sleuth series, and random vintage ones?

Well, high five to you and here’s some super fun news!!

Today’s story “Dead Drop” is a short mystery written in the same feel as those beloved books, gets real spy/secret agenty, and young and old are sure to enjoy it!!

Okay, here’s the deal…

With an entire free summer before them, four children start a code that includes cool code names and a top secret drop location for passing notes about their neighborhood life. But then the messages start not making any sense at all and … well, let’s just say the plot thickens. 😉 Kid-friendly but epic, I love this story!

Summertime is all fun and games …and spycraft.

When Jaimie and her brother discover a hollow place in a half-dead tree, she and her friends decide it’s the perfect dead drop for their amateur spy-ring.

As time goes on, the messages Jaimie receives become harder to decipher. Is one of her friends a real spy? Or is something even stranger going on?

This is a short story (approx. 26 minutes average reading time).

  1. Ooh, this sounds good! Yes, I’ve read the Trixie Belden series, The Boxcar Children series, Nancy Drew series, Homer Price, Encyclopedia Brown series, and Scripture Sleuth series. 😀 Unfortunately, I’m with Jo; I’m a cheapskate and usually only get ebooks if they’re free. xD 😥
