Chores can get boring, but they don’t have to be. Especially with all the free music available– jam out!!!
Drying a stack of dripping dishes for hours. Folding a mountain of laundry until the cows come home. Chipping away at that weekend to-do list. Arghh…
It can get pretty tedious and boring at times, right?
Here’s one of the ways we love to spice up the chore-doing at our house: spool up some music! 😀
Music can get really expensive, right??? $1.99 a song? More for a subscription?
We’ve discovered some great ways to listen to awesome music without spending a cent!!!
Use YouTube! It is totally free and has tons of music.
Sure, they don’t have everything, but I think pretty close to it. I created playlists; for example: Happy, Christmas, Background Music, RockOut! Then added the youtube videos I wanted (let me recommend epic movie soundtracks!!); and now, with one click it continuously plays through the list. How convenient is that?
Check out CDs at your local library! 🙂
Plus, make sure to ask if your library has an online database option. Ours has one called HooplaDigital, and we get to borrow music from there too!
Listen on a free trial of Amazon Prime.
Guys. Amazon Prime gives you access to Amazon Music that has just about all the songs and movie soundtracks you could want! You might consider getting one especially if you are going on a road trip or expecting some heavy duty housework. 😉
Also, if you’re a qualifying college student, you can get a free 6 month trial of Student Prime! Our college-brother has this, and as well as listening to music on it, we sometimes watch the good shows on there. (We’re enjoying Thunderbirds Are Go! <3)
Open your mouth and sing!! 🎤🎵
No matter how squeaky or cracked your voice sounds! You must admit it’s pretty fun to sing out your favorite tunes… especially if there are other people to join in, or your dog likes to howl 😛 … and it also costs zero money, right?
At our house, random singing breaks out and then everybody else joins in from all different rooms. It can get pretty funny. How come we can only remember the same two lines in one catchy song and sing them over and over?!? Do you have this terrible problem sometimes? 😉
BONUS– some of my favorite YouTube music!
Epic movie soundtrack- “This is Berk”, from How to Train Your Dragon
Peppy cleaning song- “Sparrows”, by Jason Gray
Contemporary song cover- “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, violin cover by Taylor Davis
So there you go! Turn it on and time will fly, because… you’ll be having loads of fun (while folding loads of laundry)! 😮 Your feet might move a bit underneath you– so don’t break that china dish either. 😛
Have fun doing chores! Share your favorite tunes with us in the comments below! We love to chat!
Yo, did you enjoy this? Pin it!
